![]() Manila, Philippines, October 9, 2016- We Care for Humanity (WCH)’s founder and president, Princess Maria Amor Torres painfully announced the passing of her mother, Mrs. Erlinda Carasco Torres, an unsung hero, gone too soon. Mrs. Torres joined her creator last October 3, 2016 due to complications over long term diabetes and kidney failure. She was brought to her final resting place at Forest Lawn, Rodriguez, Rizal on October 8, 2016. Erlinda was known to many as a notable kind woman and a charismatic person with compassionate heart. She was called “Tia Ely” by those who look up to her, by her colleagues at work and friends who loved her cooking. “Nanay (Mama) was the very first humanitarian I had ever known. We were not rich but I remember when we were young, my mother always had food for the homeless, always ready to help to relatives and friends in need”, said Princess Maria Amor. “Because of Nanay, I am what I am today, making a change, helping humanity. She was my inspiration for putting up the now internationally acclaimed NGO- We Care for Humanity, helping women and children in many countries and giving humanitarian awards to the greatest humanitarians of the world including heads of states, dignitaries, and kings and queens. I may not had been able to honor her alongside other humanitarians when she was alive but Nanay was my hero and would always stay my hero forever. She inculcated in my mind to always stay humble and true in helping people, and to never ever let corruption gets into my organization.”, she continues. Erlinda or Ely was survived by her husband- Reynaldo Torres; her daughters- Maria Amor, Tina T. Ayungao and Rizaline T. Pascual; son- Ferdinand Torres; grandchildren- Krishna Lou, Niles Kim, Andy, Christian, Samantha, Reynalin, Kianna, Kurt, King and Kairos; sister- Esterlita Olavario and brother- Eduardo Carasco. Ely’s children have the same thing to say about their mother, “Nanay was the greatest mother in the world, she loved us unconditionally, we couldn’t have asked for more. She was the most loving, patient and understanding human being and she was always there for us. How we wished she lived longer so we could show her more how much we love her deeply.” “To my beloved, sweet, beautiful Nanay, you are engraved in my heart forever. I love you so much", parting words from her eldest daughter, Amor. |
