International Women's Day

Today as we celebrate International Women's Day, We Care for Humanity (WCH) hopes for ensuring women's safety in public places. This goes a long way in giving them equal space in the decision making process. We cannot wait for a safe atmosphere to be created... Safety of women is also connected to the participation of women in public life. When there are more women in public sphere, safe atmosphere will be created for women.

Nations should move beyond "women development" towards "women-led development".  Women lawmakers should interact with women representatives in their area as a step towards their "empowerment". Proper utilisation of the Funds meant for Women will bring better results towards protecting the dignity and ensuring safety of women.

Women need to be part of the implementation and decision-making process, the problem is how to make it work. In the countries, where women are still behind, reservation for women in assemblies can facilitate the process. When we talk about this, the reservation for women in developing country’s parliament becomes important. The experience of having more women in local bodies has already proved that in countries like India.

It is felt that not enough support is being done for ensuring a safe atmosphere for women. "If there is atmosphere of safety, women will come out and have bigger role. We hope that there will be better result as we celebrate this Women's Day.

In behalf of We Care for Humanity and International Women's Peace Group (IWPG), we want to wish all the women in the world a Happy Women's Day!

--- Princess Raden Dato-Seri Maria Amor Torres

WCH Founder and President Princess Maria Amor attends the "Importance of NGO Participation in CSW and the SDGs" and “Ambassadorial Meeting on Peace and Sustainable Development Education” by IWPG in celebration of The International Women’s Day at the United Nations.

It’s traveling time once again for We Care for Humanity (WCH) founder and president Princess Maria Amor. Without hesitation, Amor accepted the International Women's Peace Group (IWPG)’s cordial invitation to moderate the "Importance of NGO Participation in CSW and the SDGs" on Friday, 4 March from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the UN Church Center, 777 UN Plaza, 2nd Floor. The impact that NGOs have in CSW and in achieving of the SDGs will be discussed, and how women can work together with one another, other NGOs and institutions.

“IWPG is very closed to my heart, I believe in its mission and Chairwoman Nam Hee Kim’s fight to end wars by propagating peace through women and their mothers’ hearts”. The Princess continued, “as Peace Ambassador of IWPG and HWPL, it is my responsibility to promote IWPG’s peace work to women and children around the world, that’s why I am here celebrating the International Women’s Day at the United Nations through the kind organization of IWPG.

Other women events that the Princess is set to attend are the Ambassadorial Meeting on Peace and Sustainable Development Education on same day at 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 at the Conference Room 9 UNHQ and the Women’s March on March 5, 2016. With International Women's Day (IWD) approaching, IWPG and WCH wish to focus on the importance of education for all government bodies, and collaboration with civil society and other stakeholders.

“Mothers can sacrifice their lives for their children, and they are the creators who can make something out of nothing. There is no reason women cannot change and transform this hurt and wounded mankind into a world of peace.”, a motherly statement from Chairwoman Nam Hee Kim.
