We Care for Humanity Valentine’s Day
By Maureen Brindle
Valentine’s Day is almost here,
Spreading love to those we hold dear,
Secret cards and red roses,
Chocolates and flower posies.
Remember in the romantic night,
Children hungry without light,
The dangers that walk our earth,
Love is humanity’s rebirth.
St. Valentine died for love,
Blessing lovers from God above,
The Roman Emperor executed him twice,
His orders were quite concise.
Lovers must not be blessed,
The Emperor’s law must be addressed.
St. Valentine followed God’s loving way,
His marrying lovers is remembered today.
Charity the greatest gift to share,
Love is the beginning without compare,
Love and happiness on Valentine’s Day,
We Care for Humanity leads the way.
Happy Valentine’s Day.
